Hello!
I am Abby Werth, a speech and language therapist, based in Steyning, West Sussex.
I have over 20 years experience in assessment and therapy for children and teenagers within schools, homes and the community. I have also worked with learning disabled adults in the community.
I specialise in working with neurodivergent individuals, who have a wide range of speech, language and communication difficulties and challenges. These include learning disabilities, autism, ADHD, Downs Syndrome, and others.
If you would like to find out how I can help you please get in touch here.
How I work
My approach to therapy and assessment is neurodiversity affirming, respecting different ways of seeing the world, and drawing upon each individual’s strengths.
. . . . . . . .
At the same time I recognise that many people have significant support requirements, which need to be understood and met.
. . . . . . . .
I look at each person as a whole, and always consider whether there are aspects of their daily lives that can be altered to make communication work better, including what others can do to communicate more effectively with that person.
. . . . . . . .
In my work, I aim to ensure, where appropriate, that any sensory integration and attention issues are addressed, as these are essential for learning and communication.
. . . . . . . .
This means that my sessions almost always involve movement, active participation, and activities that are fun and challenging.
Prices
I generally charge £75 per therapy session which is usually 45 minutes therapy, plus any liaison/reporting back (and includes bespoke therapy materials).
For assessments I charge on an individual basis, depending on the assessment required.
